Golden Moments at Southern Hills K9

Welcome to the latest highlight from our Southern Hills K9 training grounds, where every dog’s transformation is a story worth telling. Today, we’re barking with excitement to share the journey of a delightful 8-month-old Labrador Retriever named Goldie, hailing from the esteemed Rocky Ford Kennels.
Goldie arrived at our facility with all the traits we love to see in a young pup: she’s sweet, sports a solid temperament, and exhibits an impressive level of compliance. These characteristics not only make her a joy to be around but also an ideal candidate for our board and training program.

Our time with Goldie was focused on honing her leash obedience skills, a vital foundation for any well-mannered canine citizen. Her innate eagerness to please and quick learning curve made the training process not just effective, but thoroughly enjoyable for both of us. Witnessing her progress and developing that trust and communication with her has been one of the many rewards of this profession.

But Goldie’s training didn’t stop there. She also stayed with us for an extended period to master E-Collar training, which she approached with the same zest and intelligence as her initial lessons. The E-Collar is a tool that, when used responsibly under professional guidance, can provide clear communication and freedom for dogs, and Goldie was no exception. She adapted to it with the grace and understanding that Labradors are known for.
Our adventures weren’t confined to the training field. Goldie became a familiar, wagging tail around our hometown of Perry, FL, and even made a few trips to Tallahassee. It was during these excursions that Goldie’s training truly shone through. Whether it was navigating new environments or meeting strangers, she handled every situation with the poise of a well-trained pup.

A particular highlight for Goldie (and a treat for us to witness) was her visits to the pet store. It’s there that she not only got to pick out her favorite goodies but also made some new friends along the way. The joy in her eyes as she interacted with the world around her was a clear indicator of her love for exploration and socialization.
As Goldie’s trainers, we couldn’t be more proud of her achievements. She embodies what our board and training program aims to achieve: confident, obedient dogs who are as well-prepared for adventures in the outside world as they are for the comforts of home life.
To Goldie’s owners: thank you for entrusting us with your precious pup. It has been an absolute pleasure helping you train Goldie, and we’re excited to see all the wonderful places you’ll go together.

For those considering a board and training program for their own furry friend, let Goldie’s story be your inspiration. With our expert guidance and your dog’s potential, the journey is just as rewarding as the destination.
Until next time, keep those tails wagging, and remember—every day is an opportunity for a new adventure at Southern Hills K9! 🐾
